Consents & Authorisation For Work

In almost all circumstances it is illegal to carry out any erosion control work without administering certain procedures. It is therefore essential to plan your project carefully!

Main Rivers will require formal consent from the Environment Agency prior to any commencement of works. It is best to speak to your local office and their range of experienced staff as they will be happy to offer advice on both the ecological and engineering aspects of the site.

Should your site be within a protected SSSI area, it will be necessary to contact the relevant English Nature Office.

If the work is required on Drainage Board Watercourses permission will need to be sought from the Clerk to the Board.

Waste Control Licences will need to be sought if soils are to be imported to the site.

As you can see it is crucial to gain planning permission before any work is carried out.
